Spinoza wrote in conclusion of Ethics: "blessedness consists in love of God, a love which arises from the intuitive knowledge, ...which is a virtue in itself". 

How can a sadness over a separation from a human being outweigh the happiness of the love of God?  How can a person love anyone or anything more than God?  God is infinite, a finite being cannot possibly have something that the infinite God is lacking.  Unless that finite being is your child, and unlike the infinite God it can be touched, hugged and kissed and fed, and it can love you unconditionally just because you are the parent, and you know the minute details about that small being that you’ll never know about the great and awesome God.  The finite being has details, the traits and habits, that the great and infinite God does not manifest outside of that specific finite presence.  God has infinite attributes, but each combination of attributes is unique and is tied to a specific person or place, and that is how each individual becomes so precious, because the attributes associated with that being are unique and only come across once.   

However, the love of God will hold you when everything else fails – when the winter sets in, the music is paused and the fire is burning low, the divine light illuminates the path and the still soft voice is the only sound heard in the night.
